Who can currently cross the land border from Canada to the US?

United States citizens, dual US/Canadian citizens, lawful permanent residents and those traveling on what the US government has deemed essential travel can cross the land border from Canada into the United States. Please refer to the US Embassy in Canada or US Customs and Border Patrol website for full details.

When will the US land border open?

Per the US Government, the land border will open to all fully vaccinated Canadians on November 8th, 2021.

will I need a negative covid test to cross into the US via the land border?

No. As of now, the US will not require a negative COVID test for those about to cross via land.

Can children under 12 cross the US land border open?

As of now, there has been no official announcement regarding children who are below the age for vaccination.

Can I fly from Canada to the US?

Yes. Starting November 8th, 2021, you must be fully vaccinated to enter the U.S. via air, and provide a negative Covid-19 test taken within 3 days of their flight. Those returning to Canada after visiting the US may be subject to restrictions upon return.
